Ambient Particulate Samplers

1. HIGH VOLUME SAMPLERS

High volume air samplers are used for the collection of airborne particulate matter in ambient air. They are available for the collection of Total Suspended particulates (TSP), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 10µm (PM10), particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 2.5µm (PM2.5), and semi-volatile organic compounds and pesticides (PUF).

2. LOW VOLUME SAMPLERS

The Tisch Environmental TE-Wilbur is the most advanced low volume air sampler system in the industry. The TE-Wilbur can be configured for TSP, PM10, PM2.5, PM1 as well as any other particulate separation device with a flow rate between 1-25 SLPM. Featuring modern, industrially hardened components paired with innovative design and state of the art manufacturing practices, the TE-Wilbur is the future of particulate collection. The TE-Wilbur is ideal for Environmental Monitoring, Fence Line Monitoring and Industrial Monitoring. The TE-Wilbur is designed to operate in any environment and is set up for quick and easy deployment. The TE-Wilbur exceeds all performance specifications set forth by the USEPA for low-volume particulate collection.

3. NON-VIABLE ANDERSEN CASCADE IMPACTORS

The Tisch Environmental ambient non-viable Andersen cascade impactor is used to sample liquid and dry airborne particulates. The TE-20-800 is a multi-stage orificemade of precision-machined aluminum stages withsuccessively smaller hole diameters as the particulates cascade through the device. As a known volume of air pass through the stages, the larger particles will ' impact ' on the surface of the impaction plateand the smaller particles will remain in the air stream and cascade through each successively smaller stage until eventually they are impacted onto an impaction plate.

4. HIGH VOLUME CASCADE IMPACTORS

Series 230 hivol cascade impactors attach to any high volume air sampler and fractionates suspended particulates into as many as six different size fractions. The slotted impactor design separates particulates from larger than 7.2µm to less than .49µm while operating at a flow rate of 40cfm. The cascade design of this impactor collects particles on small lightweight substrates that are analyzed for respirable particulate matter. There are several models available with 1, 4, 5, and 6 impactor stages allowing for ultimate flexibility.

5. PERSONAL CASCADE IMPACTOR

Designed to be worn by the worker, the Tisch Environmental 290 series Marple personal cascade impactor is a multi-stage personal size-selective device used for particle size distribution. The 290 series impactor is made of lightweight aluminum impaction stages weighing less than 7 ounces for ultimate comfort and limited user interference. Available in 8-stage, 6-stage, and 4-stage configurations, the personal cascade impactor is suitable for various sampling applications.

6. ACID PRECIPITATION SAMPLER

The TE-78-100 is an Atmospheric Precipitation Sampler or Acid Precipitation Sampler(APS). The system is designed to collect both total precipitation and total particulate deposition for later laboratory analysis of pH, conductivity, and speciation. The APS is constructed of heavy gaugepowder-coated aluminum with two 3.5 gallon collection buckets. The buckets share a common gabled roof cover that moves between buckets during the wet/dry periods.

The TE-78-100 collects precipitation in two buckets; one container is for collection during precipitation and the second container collects dry particulate matter. A rain sensor detects precipitation and activates the gabled roof mechanism to transfer the cover from the wet bucket to the dry bucket.

7. AIRPHOTON AUTOMATED FILTER SAMPLING STATION

The AirPhoton Automated Filter Sampling Station is a fully programmable system that collects particulate matter on filters for subsequent analysis. Consisting of a Inlet/Filter unit and a Control Box, the station is designed for compatibility with the AirPhoton 8-slot filter cartridge model FC10. The programmable capability allows flexibility when designing sampling cycles, moving collection from filter slot to filter slot or turning collection on and off at specified times. A total of 8-slots are available before the filter cartridge must be changed. Filter cartridges are portable and can be prepared in the lab and mailed to the sampling station site.
